We have some helpful tips for you to use while coping with this. Try not to say, “You already said/asked that.” If they are telling a story and parts are incorrect, try not to correct them. This can be difficult day in and day out, but it is important to meet them where they are at. Remember, they cannot control what they are experiencing with their changes in memory, and correcting them will make them feel discouraged and guilty. This being said, it is important for you to have time to yourself, so that your potential irritability and frustrations lessen and you are better able to cope.
