    Elder Care and Loneliness

    Research shows that almost half of older adults report that most days they feel lonely. This can cause an increase in illness and can lead to premature death. Do not be afraid to ask an older adult if they are lonely and to help connect them with others. In the rural towns of Northern Virginia many people believe this is difficult to do. However, there are actually multiple options in rural towns. For example, Senior Centers, that also provide transportation to and from their Center.
