“Eight months ago my Husband of 43 years had a Grand Mall Seizure. Prior to this, he had some physical health problems, but he had a couple of surgeries and we were both waiting for improvement. Not much improved then came the seizure.
He had a complete personality change. He had confusion and mood swings and he did not improve physically. He became worse with balance issues and had to use a walker and still does. He wanted to go to Doctor all the time, and his Neurologist said he did not have Dementia. I had trouble with my immediate Family believing me. I was beside myself, and I had a break down. Finally, in November my Daughter saw what was happening. She hired We Care Management to help us.
Amanda’s expert attention saved me. She has settled the Family and especially me. She organized Dr. care and even takes him to appointments. She has counseled my Children and especially me.
She helped me get him an accurate diagnosis of Dementia, which is a terrible disease. Getting through the Medical Field for help is next to impossible to do yourself. She is setting up resources to take the burden off of me. My Husband will be receiving in home care and attending a Day Care soon. He is a Vietnam Veteran, and Amanda is working with me to get him the benefits he deserves.”
I want anyone who is going through this too know how important having help is. I now know I am not weak by asking for help, no one can do this alone. Facing the fact the Person you spent your entire life with is not coming back is impossible to describe. Amanda helped me and my Adult Children realize that. As a result of Amanda’s guidance, my husband is treated with respect by all of us instead of as a burden. Don’t get me wrong I still have my moments. There is no treatment or cure. She will stay with me through placement if necessary.”
